Telling stories through composition and poise to enhance the text
As a designer, I consider all elements that require the audience to “read”, whether it is typography conveying the text or the image supporting the story. I believe that information-carrying images are powerful communication tools.
While conducting focus groups and usability lab sessions with high school and graduate students, I heard students saying authentic images are “trustworthy” and they can immediately spot stock images. One of my goals is to tell stories in a genuine way, interlacing composition, poise, and location that drives and supports the concept of the text.
